Emma’s story.
Who would have thought that redundancy at 39 would turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to Emma?
Emma is the founder of Emma Lori Travel and the driving force behind the Unlocked Travel Community. Before this, she spent over a decade as a professional singer, then came motherhood and then a redundancy that forced her to ask herself what she actually wanted.
Travel had always been a huge part of her life. In her twenties she lived in different countries, explored the world, and somehow became the person everyone turned to when it came to planning a trip. She just never thought she could turn those skills into an income.
When redundancy hit, she explored her options. Travel franchises felt very exciting until the price tag put them firmly out of reach... but then she found this business model, and for the first time, it all felt possible. Those years of travelling, planning and organising had given her more than she realised.
With no formal travel experience, two young boys at home and a lot of determination, she built her business from scratch. Today she leads a community of over 200 independent travel agents, all building their own businesses their own way, with real support behind them.
